Terms of use
These terms govern purchases and public artwork placements on putmeonthemap.lol.
The marketplace
Each country may display one active buyer's artwork as its map background. A purchase does not transfer land, geography, intellectual property, sovereignty, or permanent placement rights. It buys the current public placement until another buyer completes a higher bid.
Pricing and takeovers
An unclaimed country starts at $2. Taking a claimed country requires at least $1 more than its current public bid. Buyers may choose a larger whole-dollar bid for a stronger position. Standard multi-country checkout totals are the sum of each country's chosen bid. The “Take Over the World” bundle uses every country's live minimum, then applies a 10% discount to the combined checkout total. The server refreshes availability and calculates the authoritative amount before payment.
All-Time and Today
The All-Time board ranks current country owners by their active bids. Today includes verified claims completed since midnight UTC and resets at the next midnight UTC. The Today reset does not expire ownership, erase bids, or return countries to inventory.
Outbid notifications
When Stripe provides a buyer email, putmeonthemap.lol may send a transactional notice if that claim is outbid. The notice includes the public country price and a link to bid again. It is not a subscription or marketing list.
Your rights and responsibilities
You must have permission to publish the artwork, description, and destination link. You may not impersonate others, infringe rights, mislead visitors, automate purchases, interfere with availability, or evade the content rules. Keep your private management link secure; anyone holding it can manage the claim.
Enforcement
Reported content may be reviewed, removed, and refunded under the refund policy. We may block abusive traffic, unlawful content, fraud, or attempts to compromise the service. Service availability is provided as-is and may change to protect buyers and the marketplace.
